Department Info

The Village of Milford recorded its first Fire Department in the early 1840’s. Now in the year 2006 we reflect upon the change of the century and what we have left behind. In the early 1940’s the need for additional apparatus was discussed and a new Seagrave Pumper was purchased in 1945. This truck is still owned and in working condition by the Milford Community Fire Department today.

In 1982 Milford hired their first Full time employee, Chief John E. Cooper Sr. who had been Fire Chief since 1978. We have grown to 10 full time employees and over 50 Part time and volunteers. Our volunteers still play an active role in the Milford Community Fire Dept.  We have 1 station manned 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  We run 3 Engines, 1 Ladder Company and 2 Paramedic Units out of Station 1.
